I guess you could say owning a shop like this has been in my cards since I was a teenager working at Country Style. I always enjoyed conversing with regulars and new faces, while providing them with good products and great customer service. That was when the dream of owning my own shop started but I wasn't sure what I wanted to provide.

 

As the years went by I had made the occasional batch of cookies but never realized how much I enjoyed baking until my mid 20's when I was on maternity leave, spending any extra time I had baking pies, cookies, muffins, caramels, and decorating the odd cake for the family. That's when I knew I wanted to open a bakery.

Wanting to provide something for everyone, I started dabbling with gluten-free recipes (which didn't turn out more often than they did, lol). Then life happened, second pregnancy, the big move to Beaverton and a new job, by the end of 2018 I had left the dream behind, assuming it wasn't in my cards. In the fall of 2020 when the world was still adjusting to COVID, I quit said job and stayed home with the kids for the school year. When a new bakery in town was looking for help the following fall I applied. Flexible hours, a friendly, supportive environment and the potential to help the owner achieve their dream when mine was dead and gone, couldn't be a better fit!
